Henrico County School Board announces April 30 public meetings and comment procedures

The County School Board of Henrico County, Virginia, announced on April 24 that it will hold a work session at 3:00 p.m. and its monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 30. Both meetings will take place in the New Bridge Learning Center auditorium at 5915 Nine Mile Road in Henrico, Virginia.

These meetings are open to the public, and interested citizens are invited to attend. The school board said there will be a public forum during the monthly meeting for citizens to address the board about any matter concerning the school division. Citizens who wish to speak must sign up in advance through an online form or by calling the Clerk by 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29. Each speaker is limited to three minutes, and only one member per household may reserve a speaking spot.

Written comments can also be submitted electronically by noon on Wednesday, April 29 via the School Board webpage under “Connecting with the Board.” The same rules apply to written comments as those given in person; these include providing a name and school affiliation if applicable, following standards of courtesy and decorum, and avoiding obscenity or defamation. Written comments that meet requirements will become part of the meeting record but are subject to disclosure under FOIA.

A livestream of both sessions will be available on henricoschools.us. Meeting agendas can be found through BoardDocs online archives. Citizens may also contact board members anytime via email.
