Community members in Orange County have an opportunity to express their views on the upcoming Route 675 (Dolley Madison Road) bridge replacement at a public hearing scheduled for Thursday, April 24. The hearing will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. at Lewis Hall, located at the Montpelier Foundation, 13384 Laundry Road, Montpelier Station.

The $8.9 million project aims to replace the deteriorating bridge built in 1948, which currently can support loads of up to 5 tons. The new construction will involve new steel beams and a timber deck, which will accommodate all legal loads.

Attendees of the hearing can view the project plans, ask questions, and leave comments. Community feedback can also be directed to Kevin Barnholt, the Project Manager, at 1601 Orange Road, Culpeper VA 22701, or via email at kevin.barnholt@vdot.virginia.gov with the subject line “Route 675 Bridge Replacement Comment.”
