William & Mary received both Coastal Athletic Association Men’s Outdoor Track & Field weekly awards, as freshman Uriah Harris was named CAA Men’s Field Athlete of the Week and junior Hayes Trapp earned CAA Men’s Track Athlete of the Week honors, according to an April 28 announcement from the league.

These awards highlight strong performances by both athletes during the outdoor season. The recognition is notable as it marks Harris’ third time receiving the conference’s weekly field honor this spring, reflecting his consistency in major collegiate competitions.

Harris achieved sixth place in both the College Men’s Shot Put with a throw of 17.11 meters (56-1¾) and in the College Men’s Discus Championship at 53.52 meters (175-7) at the Penn Relays. His efforts came against top collegiate competition at Franklin Field. Earlier this season, Harris set William & Mary outdoor freshman records in both shot put and discus events. He currently leads all competitors in the conference with season-best marks of 17.89 meters (58-8¼) for shot put and 55.83 meters (183-2) for discus.

Trapp was recognized for his performance in distance events after finishing third in the College Men’s 10,000-meter Championship at Penn Relays with a time of 29:21.52. This podium finish adds to his strong spring season; earlier he recorded a season-best time of 29:12.09 at Raleigh Relays, which stands as this year’s fastest mark in that event within the conference.

William & Mary is scheduled to compete again on Sunday, May 3, at Duke Twilight in Durham.
