Hampton Pirates softball to face George Mason in final non-conference game Tuesday

The Hampton Pirates softball team will travel to Fairfax to play George Mason on Tuesday, April 20, for their last non-conference game of the 2026 season. The matchup is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start at the George Mason Softball Complex.

This game marks the end of non-conference play for Hampton, giving both teams an opportunity to prepare before concluding their respective seasons. Hampton enters the game with a record of 10-29 overall and 4-17 in conference action after dropping two out of three games against Charleston over the previous weekend. In their lone win, Riley Bohanon delivered a two-out single in extra innings that brought home Leah Maduro for a walk-off victory.

Carmynn Bonner leads Hampton in several offensive categories this season, including batting average (.402), runs (19), hits (47), doubles (8), home runs (6), runs batted in (28), slugging percentage (.624), on-base percentage (.446) and OPS (1.070). Teammates Bohanon and Violet Salazar are also among team leaders with batting averages of .344 and .300 respectively. On the pitching staff, Ava Lester has posted a 5-6 record with an earned run average of 4.58.

George Mason’s lineup features catcher Logan Pickford as its top hitter, leading her team in batting average (.359), hits (47), triples (3) and sharing first place in RBIs (25). She is also second on her squad in home runs with six and third in doubles with nine.

After facing George Mason, Hampton will finish its season with a three-game series at Campbell beginning Friday.
