A Goochland man has been sentenced to five years in prison for distributing cocaine and fentanyl that led to a fatal overdose. According to court documents, Don Carnell Batchelor Jr. provided the drugs to a friend, identified as “SN,” on August 20, 2021, in Richmond. After receiving the substances from Batchelor, SN used some of them while visiting family and was found dead at his parents’ home the next morning. The medical examiner determined that SN died from cocaine and fentanyl toxicity.

Bailey, New Kent County Sheriff, announced the sentencing after it was handed down by Senior U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson.
