Motorists driving through Pittsylvania County should prepare for delays next month. According to information released, Route 601, also known as Hubbard Road, will undergo temporary closure. Geotechnical drilling is scheduled to take place on this road section, prompting the closure.

The affected portion stretches from Route 602, referred to locally as Moons Road, to the intersection with Route 761, known as Straightstone Road. The closure period is set from May 5 through May 9.
