The ramp from Georgetown Pike to northbound I-495 will be closed Sunday night, April 13, between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. the following morning. This closure is planned to allow construction crews to perform necessary milling and paving work as part of the I-495 Express Lanes Northern Extension (495 NEXT) project.

During the closure, drivers traveling from east and westbound Georgetown Pike to northbound I-495 will be detoured. The detour route advises exiting Georgetown Pike onto southbound I-495, then proceeding to Exit 46B for northbound Route 123/Chain Bridge Road. Travelers will then follow Route 123/Chain Bridge Road to the right exit ramp for northbound I-495.

All scheduled work is weather-dependent and may be extended or rescheduled if necessary.

Drivers are encouraged to exercise caution and anticipate potential delays when navigating the area. For up-to-date information on traffic, work zones, and incidents, visit VA 511 online at 511.vdot.virginia.gov, through the mobile app, or by calling 511 from any phone in Virginia.
