The George Mason track and field teams will compete in the 2026 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday, May 2, and Sunday, May 3. For the third consecutive year, George Mason will host the event at George Mason Stadium.

The championship is significant for both men’s and women’s teams. Last season, the men’s team won their first outdoor title since 2019 by narrowly defeating Rhode Island in the final events. The Patriots’ victory was secured by a strong performance from their relay team in the last two races of the meet. Meanwhile, the women’s team finished second overall behind UMass and last captured an indoor title in 2023.

Competition begins Saturday at 11 a.m. with decathlon events and concludes Sunday afternoon with relays as scheduled. Live results will be available online throughout the weekend, with streaming coverage on ESPN+ starting at 2:30 p.m. Saturday and continuing through each day’s conclusion.

A full roster of athletes from both teams is set to participate across various disciplines including sprints, hurdles, jumps, throws, relays, decathlon for men and heptathlon for women. The Patriots are also entering teams in all major relay events for both men’s and women’s competitions.

Several George Mason athletes are among national leaders or conference leaders heading into this championship weekend based on recent performances in pole vaulting, discus throw, hurdles, distance running events as well as multi-event competitions such as heptathlon.
