The George Mason Patriots baseball team will travel to Fordham for a three-game Atlantic 10 Conference series starting Friday, April 24, with games scheduled through Sunday, April 26 at Houlihan Park in Bronx, New York.

This matchup is important as both teams are closely ranked in the conference standings. The Patriots currently hold a record of 19-19 overall and 10-8 in the Atlantic 10, while Fordham stands at 19-23 overall and an even 9-9 in conference play. George Mason leads the all-time series against Fordham, having won 15 out of their previous 27 meetings.

In their last outing, the Patriots secured a win over James Madison with a score of 7-4. Freshman right fielder Jackson Morse contributed three hits and an RBI; junior first baseman Matthew Westley had two hits and scored twice; junior third baseman Jake Butler added two hits including a double and drove in two runs. Junior Tanner Kaler earned his first win on the mound while graduate student Diego Cardenas picked up his first save as a Patriot.

Senior shortstop Owen Clyne was named a semifinalist for the College Baseball Foundation’s Brooks Wallace Award this week. He has started all games this season and leads or shares team leadership in several offensive categories including triples (3), total bases (282), RBI (35), runs scored (39), on-base percentage (.443), slugging percentage (.558), hits (52), walks (24) and home runs (5).

Fordham enters the series after splitting midweek games—losing to Fairfield but defeating Iona—and recently swept La Salle in their last conference series. The Rams have played nearly evenly at home and away this season.

The Patriots roster features thirteen returning players alongside nineteen newcomers under head coach Shawn Camp’s leadership in his fourth year. The team is scheduled to play fifty-five games this season—including thirty against Atlantic 10 rivals—with upcoming contests both at home and on the road as they look ahead to May’s Atlantic 10 Baseball Championship.
