The George Mason men’s golf team will compete in the 2026 Atlantic 10 Men’s Golf Championship at Evermore Orlando Resort’s Cypress Course on April 27 and 28. Tee times are scheduled to begin each day at 7:30 a.m.

The Patriots aim to improve upon their seventh-place finish from last year. Their best result since joining the Atlantic 10 Conference in the 2013-14 season was a third-place finish in 2022.

Vaughn McMeans, who led George Mason at last year’s championship with a fifteenth-place finish as a freshman and earned all-conference honors, has anchored the team this season. McMeans posted a stroke average of 70.8, which is the best in program history, and he currently ranks as the top individual golfer in the conference by seventy spots. His scoring average versus par stands at -1.04, surpassing the previous school record of +0.31.

Other notable performances include sophomore David Fuhrer, who improved his stroke average to 72.9 this season and finished seventh at the Dorado Beach Collegiate tournament in Puerto Rico while being named Atlantic 10 Golfer of the Week for late February. Uzair Mirza tied for seventeenth overall at last year’s conference tournament and recorded an even-par final round with four birdies.

Junior Vijay Powell has maintained a stroke average of 73.1 this season and achieved his best result with a sixth-place finish at Chambers Bay during the RedHawk Invitational, tying McMeans for that spot individually after shooting four-under-par overall.

Joe Johnson competed in two tournaments this spring after transferring from Radford University; he won medalist honors at Bridgeport Collegiate by finishing seven-under-par overall, including a five-under-par final round of sixty-seven strokes.

Freshman Philipp Krone led George Mason with his top-twenty finish this season by placing thirteenth individually—and helping secure fifth place as a team—at Dorado Beach Collegiate Tournament thanks to his five-under-par final round featuring seven birdies; he was recognized as A-10 Rookie of the Week for that effort.

As a team, George Mason secured five top-five finishes during the current academic year, including runner-up results at both Rutherford Collegiate and Babygrande Donald Ross Collegiate Classic.
