The Fredericksburg District has released its weekly traffic alert for March 23-29, 2025. Various construction and maintenance activities are scheduled across several counties, affecting both interstate and local roads.
On Interstate 95, there will be mobile lane closures from Exit 104 (Carmel Church) to Exit 148 (Quantico) for bridge cleaning during the night hours. Additionally, fiber installation under permit will cause single lane closures on the southbound lanes near Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway) and Exit 126 (Spotsylvania).
In the City of Fredericksburg, Lafayette Boulevard will experience right lane closures for most of the week due to roadwork between Twin Lake Drive and St. Pauls Drive. Fall Hill Avenue will also see alternating lane closures midweek.
Caroline County’s Route 17 and Route 301 are set for paving work with alternating lane closures throughout the week. Essex County’s Route 17 at Church Lane will have nighttime lane closures for signal pole installation.
Gloucester County is undergoing extensive paving work on various routes including Route 3 and Route 17 northbound and southbound. In King George County, paving operations on Routes 3 and 603 will result in alternating one-way traffic managed by flaggers.
King and Queen County’s Mt. Elba Road remains closed due to severe weather damage repair efforts. Lancaster County sees signal foundation work at intersections involving Route 200.
In Mathews County, multiple routes such as Buckley Hall Road are undergoing pavement patching ahead of surface treatment projects. Middlesex County continues with paving operations on Philpot Road among others.
Spotsylvania County reports shifted alignments on Route 1 due to ongoing improvement works linked to Kalahari Resorts & Conventions development projects. Meanwhile, Stafford County plans right lane closures on major routes like Route 1 for fiber installations under permit.
Several long-term projects continue in the district including bridge replacements in Caroline and Westmoreland Counties, intersection improvements in Gloucester, as well as roadway widening initiatives in Spotsylvania.
