The Fredericksburg District has announced a series of traffic alerts and roadworks scheduled for the week of May 18-24, 2025. These activities include lane closures, detours, and ongoing construction projects across various counties.

On Interstate 95, both northbound and southbound lanes will experience varying single and double lane closures from Exit 133 (Route 17) to Exit 130 (Route 3) during night hours for routine bridge inspections. Additionally, mobile lane closures are planned at the Exit 143 (Garrisonville Road) interchange ramps.

Further south on I-95, alternating lane closures will occur between mile markers 121-123 for milling and paving operations. At Exit 110 (Ladysmith Road), ramps will be closed from May 21 to May 23 as crews conduct milling and paving work.

In Bowling Green, Route 2 (Main Street) will close starting Monday, May 19, for utility work with a detour in place until June 30. The City of Fredericksburg will see alternating lane closures on Bridgewater Street and Fall Hill Avenue throughout the week.

Gloucester County’s Route 17 Business (Main Street) will have overnight lane closures for bridge repairs. In King George County, Route 3 (Kings Highway) is set for paving work with alternating lane closures.

King William County’s Route 360 Westbound will undergo daytime and overnight resurfacing work with flagging operations guiding traffic through affected areas. Lancaster County will also see road resurfacing on several secondary roads.

Spotsylvania County’s Route 1 at Route 606 is undergoing final construction activities that include milling, paving, and overhead traffic signal work. Additional projects involve widening efforts on Mudd Tavern Road and Harrison Road.

Ongoing projects include bridge replacements in Caroline County on South River Road and safety improvements at Gloucester County’s Route 17 intersection with Woods Cross Road. In Westmoreland County, Monroe Bay Circle remains closed as a new bridge over Monroe Creek is constructed.
