The Fredericksburg District has released its weekly traffic alert for April 20-26, 2025. Significant road construction is planned across various counties.
On Interstate 95 southbound at exit 126 in Spotsylvania, the off-ramp will experience alternating single lane closures Tuesday to Thursday from 7 p.m. to 10 a.m., and Friday to Saturday from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Construction aims to widen the ramp and add a right turn lane to Route 1 southbound.
In Caroline County, Route 17 and Route 301 will have one-way, alternating traffic directed by a flagging crew from Wednesday through Friday due to pavement marking activities.
Gloucester County will see alternating lane closures on Route 17 Business for bridge repairs from Tuesday to Thursday nights. Multiple routes, including Route 609, Route 614, and others, will undergo paving work this week with flagging crews directing traffic.
King George County’s Route 3 will also face paving work with alternating lane closures during the week.
In King William County, Route 360 westbound will experience alternating lane closures and flagging for road resurfacing.
Various secondary roads in Middlesex and Northumberland counties will undergo repair and resurfacing throughout the week with flagging crews managing traffic.
Richmond County will see similar road resurfacing activity on secondary roads, guided by flagging operations.
Spotsylvania County will implement a traffic shift on Route 1 for median construction at Route 606. There will also be lane shifts and closures on other parts of Route 1 for the Kalahari Resorts & Conventions road improvement. Several subdivision roads will have resurfacing work as well.
In Stafford County, various routes, including Route 1 and Route 3 Business, will have single lane closures for utility work and fiber installation under permit. Route 654 (Berea Church Road) remains closed for a Stafford County improvement project.
Other counties such as Westmoreland will experience road resurfacing with flagging operations to alternate one-way traffic on affected roads.
The Fredericksburg District advises motorists to plan for potential delays and follow guidance from signage and flagging crews when navigating the affected areas.
