Drivers in Floyd County will see a change at the intersection of Route 681 (Franklin Pike) and Route 860 (Shooting Creek Road) starting November 5, weather permitting. The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) announced that new stop signs will be installed on Route 860, converting the intersection from a two-way stop to a four-way stop. This means all drivers approaching the intersection, including those on Route 860, will be required to stop.

According to VDOT, rumble strips will also be added in all directions leading up to the four-way stop. Electronic message boards are set up to inform motorists about the upcoming changes in traffic patterns.

Drivers may experience some flagging operations and minor delays outside peak travel times as crews install the rumble strips before November 5.
