FOIA Request to Radford University regarding Public University FY 2024 Employee Salaries on December 5, 2025.

On December 5, 2025, Old Dominion News submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to Radford University seeking detailed records related to employee compensation for the Fiscal Year 2024. The request was made under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, §2.2-3704 et seq., and asked for the information in electronic format.

The request specifically seeks comprehensive data on all individuals employed by Radford University during Fiscal Year 2024. This includes records that show various aspects of employee compensation such as base pay, additional pay, and compensation type (e.g., salary, hourly, stipend, bonus). Additionally, the request asks for information on employee demographics and employment details including name, gender (if recorded), age or year of birth (if not exempt), date of birth (if not exempt or limited to month/year), title or position, department, hire date, and employment type (full-time or part-time).

Old Dominion News has requested that if any portion of a responsive record is deemed exempt from disclosure under FOIA laws, all non-exempt portions should be released in redacted form rather than withheld entirely. Furthermore, as members of the media involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, Old Dominion News has requested a fee waiver based on their role in providing transparency and holding public institutions accountable.

The requestor is affiliated with The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy—a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting media companies and advocacy groups in investigating governmental agencies through Freedom of Information and Sunshine Laws. More information about this organization can be found at https://stopsecrecy.org/about/.

Our team will continue to keep you updated as we gather and report news related to this request and other matters of public interest. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need further clarification regarding this matter.
