FOIA Request to Dekalb County Regarding Vendor Payments on September 26, 2024.

In our continuous efforts to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at DeKalb Times have sent a request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140. The request was made for records of all payments made to vendors from January 1, 2024 till September 26, 2024.

The specific details requested include the vendor name, transaction date, transaction description, and the amount of each payment. We believe that access to these public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. This includes holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.

As a media organization committed to serving the public interest, we have also requested a fee waiver for this information. We are confident that this information will aid in our mission of keeping the community informed about how their tax dollars are being spent.

We look forward to working with Dekalb County officials in obtaining this information promptly and accurately.
