Five University of Virginia men’s lacrosse players were named All-Americans by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association, the organization announced on May 21.
The recognition highlights the achievements of several Cavaliers athletes in collegiate lacrosse. Earning a spot on an All-America team is considered a significant honor in college sports.
Virginia attackman McCabe Millon was selected for the second team. His younger brother, Brendan Millon, and Ryan Colsey were chosen as third-team selections. Hudson Hausmann (midfield) and John Schroter (defense) received honorable mention accolades. Players who are selected for these teams are nominated by their coach and then voted on by the All-American Committee.
The association also announced its individual postseason award winners, including Aidan Maguire from Duke as Outstanding Player of the Year; Joey Spallina from Syracuse as Outstanding Attackman; Brady Wambach from North Carolina and Evan Plunkett from Army as Co-Outstanding Midfielders; Shawn Lyght from Notre Dame as Defensive Player of the Year; and Sean Byrne from Army along with Ryan Croddick from Princeton as Co-Outstanding Goalies.
