Featherbed Lane in Lovettsville is set to close from May 12 to May 22 for bridge replacement work, as announced by the Virginia Department of Transportation. The section between Milltown Road and Loyalty Road will be inaccessible to through traffic during this period.

Access will remain available for those needing to reach properties along Featherbed Lane, but traffic cannot pass the bridge replacement site located between 40197 and 40221 Featherbed Lane.

A detour will direct through traffic via Milltown Road, Old Wheatland Road/Main Street, Water Street, and Butchers Row/Loyalty Road back to Featherbed Lane.

The new bridge on Featherbed Lane will not have a posted weight limit once completed. For updates on traffic, work zones, and incidents, information is available online at 511.vdot.virginia.gov, through the free mobile app 511Virginia, or by calling 511 within Virginia.
