VCU Men’s Tennis sophomore Erwann Bouchet was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week on Apr. 14 after his performance against No. 60 Liberty.

Bouchet earned this recognition following a strong showing in both singles and doubles matches over the weekend. The award highlights his contribution to VCU’s efforts in collegiate tennis competition.

Bouchet began by partnering with Gevorg Mnatsakanyan for a 6-3 win on Court 1 in doubles play. He later secured VCU’s only point of the match with a three-set victory over Siwanat Auytayakul, finishing with scores of 4-6, 6-2, and 6-1. After losing the first set, Bouchet allowed just three games across the next two sets to claim the win.

This season, Bouchet has competed primarily on Court 1 and holds a record of nine wins and seven losses in both singles and doubles matches. Last year, he received Atlantic 10 Second Team honors and was recognized as an ITA Scholar-Athlete.

VCU is scheduled to host Duquesne on Thursday for its second-to-last match of the season, with first serve at 3 p.m.
