Economic Development Authority cancels April 21 meeting, reschedules for May

The Economic Development Authority announced on Apr. 16 that its scheduled meeting for Tuesday, April 21 has been canceled. The next meeting is now set for Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

The cancellation affects the seven-member volunteer board that serves as the Economic Development Authority (EDA). Members of the EDA are appointed by the Board of Supervisors and serve staggered four-year terms.

According to information provided by the authority, its main responsibilities include pursuing and complying with goals outlined in the Comprehensive Plan. The EDA also advises the Board of Supervisors through the County Administrator about applications from prospective facilities seeking bond issuance and provides recommendations regarding potential facility locations within James City County.
