EAB Global has announced it has secured several taxpayer-funded contracts aimed at assisting schools and military academies in implementing diversity-focused programs. Critics argue these initiatives may promote unlawful racial quotas. The announcement was made through a press bulletin.
According to GovTribe, EAB Global has been awarded over $15 million in federal contracts, including significant agreements with the U.S. Military Academy and U.S. Naval Academy. These contracts specifically require EAB to assist with “diversity-centric applications,” including outreach to high school students of color. The use of federal funds for such initiatives has faced increased scrutiny following the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2023 decision that struck down affirmative action in college admissions, raising concerns about the legality of these practices.
In December 2022, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point engaged EAB through a contract valued at $5.4 million to help implement recruitment strategies focused on increasing underrepresented minority applicants. GovTribe reports that the agreement outlines key performance indicators prioritizing “diversity-centric applications” and mandates direct outreach to students of color via College Greenlight, an EAB-owned platform. Similarly, the Naval Academy has awarded EAB multiple contracts totaling at least $4.5 million to support diversity recruitment efforts.
EAB’s influence extends beyond federal contracts, as documented by GovTribe, with millions in state and local contracts involving higher education and K–12 districts. The City University of New York (CUNY) has paid over $11 million to EAB for consulting services centered on enrollment and diversity initiatives. Smaller K–12 districts such as Virginia Beach City Public Schools ($159,000), Wheeling School District 21 in Illinois ($46,500), and Fairfield Community School District in Iowa ($96,110) have contracted EAB for DEI training sessions and forums, often without competitive bidding.
According to its official website, EAB is a Washington, D.C.-based education consulting firm partnering with over 2,500 institutions in K–12 and higher education. Its core services include enrollment management, student success strategies, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) consulting. EAB owns College Greenlight, a recruitment platform designed to increase access for students from underrepresented communities and advocates for embedding equity into institutional frameworks.
