Virginia men’s tennis junior Dylan Dietrich has been named to the 2026 Academic All-District Men’s Tennis Team as selected by College Sports Communicators, the organization announced on May 12. The award recognizes student-athletes for their achievements both in athletics and academics.

This recognition is significant because it highlights student-athletes who excel not only in their sport but also maintain strong academic records. Honorees must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and be part of the lineup for at least 70 percent of their team’s matches.

It is the second time Dietrich has received this honor, showing his continued commitment on and off the court. Academic All-District honorees are now eligible for consideration as Academic All-America candidates, with those selections set to be announced later.

The selection process emphasizes a balance between athletic performance and classroom achievement, underscoring the dual roles many college athletes fulfill during their collegiate careers.

The next step will be the announcement of Academic All-America honorees at a future date.
