Device companies ranked third for most FDA inspections in Virginia in 2025

The FDA conducted inspections at 20 different device companies across Virginia during 2025, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

These inspections represented the third highest number conducted by the FDA for any company type in Virginia, accounting for 9.4% of all inspections in the state that year.

Among Virginia’s device companies, World Merchant, Inc. received the highest number of citations from the FDA in 2025.

The FDA routinely inspects facilities across the nation to determine if the workplace and their products are compliant with FDA-regulated laws and regulations implemented to improve overall public health. Inspection results are then disclosed publicly.

According to its website, the FDA is a government agency that is primarily responsible for monitoring the production and distribution of human and animal drugs, biological products, medical supplies and tobacco products for safety and quality.
