Liberty University lost to Delaware 17-5 at home on April 22 in the last game of the 2026 regular season. The win gave Delaware the Atlantic Sun Regular Season Championship with an undefeated conference record.

This result means Liberty will enter the ASUN Women’s Lacrosse Championship as the No. 3 seed and will play against the No. 6 seed on Tuesday at 6 p.m. Eastern Time in Jacksonville, Florida.

Delaware’s attack was led by Jaclyn Marszal, who had three goals and four assists, Ella Rishko with four goals and one assist, and McKenzie Didio. Delaware forced Liberty into turning over the ball 22 times while holding them to only 14 shots during the match.

Ava Rajala scored two goals for Liberty, including a free-position goal. Olivia Young added a goal on her only shot of the game, while Hattie Messick contributed a woman-up goal. Rachel Hines made twelve saves for Liberty despite conceding seventeen goals.

Liberty finished its regular season with a home record of one win and nine losses after facing several ranked opponents throughout their schedule. This was also their first meeting against Delaware since they joined as newcomers to the conference.

Looking ahead, Liberty will compete in postseason play starting next week in Jacksonville.
