A Danville man has been sentenced to 30 months in federal prison for distributing fentanyl, according to a recent announcement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Virginia.
Bryan Eugene Whitehead, 44, pleaded guilty in May 2025 to charges related to fentanyl distribution. Authorities began investigating Whitehead as a suspected distributor in early 2024. The investigation involved controlled purchases of fentanyl, including an ounce bought directly from Whitehead. The Danville Police Department, Virginia State Police, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) were involved in the operation.
Robert N. Tracci, Acting United States Attorney for the Western District of Virginia, and Anthony A. Spotswood, Special Agent in Charge of the Washington Field Division of ATF, announced the sentencing.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Keith Parrella and Matthew Miller.
