The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has announced the temporary closure of the Dale City Car-Only Safety Rest Area North. Located at mile marker 155 on northbound I-95, just before Dale Boulevard/Route 784 (Exit 156), the rest area will be closed to all traffic on Monday, May 12, and Thursday, May 15. The closures are scheduled from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day for paving work.

During this period, VDOT has advised that the rest area will remain open on Tuesday, May 13, and Wednesday, May 14, from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., while paving continues. Users of the rest area are urged to exercise caution during these times.

For travelers heading northbound on I-95 in Virginia, the last available car-only rest area before Dale City is the Ladysmith Safety Rest Area North/Welcome Center at mile marker 104. After passing through Dale City, the next car-only rest area is located at the I-95 North Welcome Center in Maryland at mile marker 36 near Baltimore.

VDOT advises drivers to plan their journeys accordingly and offers various resources for obtaining traffic updates and information about work zones and incidents. These resources include visiting their website at 511.vdot.virginia.gov, using the free mobile app “511Virginia,” or calling 511 within Virginia.
