The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has announced upcoming construction and maintenance activities for the Culpeper District for the week of August 25-29, 2025. The district includes Albemarle, Culpeper, Fauquier, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Madison, Orange and Rappahannock counties. The City of Charlottesville is not included as it maintains its own roads.

Throughout the week, crews will conduct bridge and guardrail maintenance, cut brush and tree limbs, repair potholes and road surfaces, perform shoulder repairs, carry out surface treatment and paving operations, respond to work orders, mow grass along roadsides, use boom axing equipment for vegetation management, address drainage issues and clean up roadsides.

VDOT encourages drivers to stay informed about current traffic conditions and ongoing road work by visiting the 511 Virginia website or downloading the free VDOT 511 Virginia Traffic app for mobile devices at https://www.511virginia.org/. Drivers can also sign up for personalized traffic alerts and view live traffic cameras through the same platform.

Additional resources such as a Paving Status Map are available online. Updates on district activities can be followed on social media via X at https://twitter.com/VaDOTCULP and Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/groups/VDOTCulpeperDistrict/.
