CSX railroad maintenance will lead to the closure of several secondary roads in Caroline and Spotsylvania counties. The work is scheduled to take place this week at various railroad crossings.

In Caroline County, Route 609 (Woodslane Road) will be closed near Route 629 (Minarchi Road) starting at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 2, and will remain closed until 7 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4. Motorists are advised to follow the detour signs posted along Route 2 (Fredericksburg Turnpike) and Route 626 (Woodford Road).

Additionally, Route 656 (Coleman’s Mill Crossing) in Caroline County will be closed between Route 207 (Rogers Clark Boulevard) and Carneal Lane during the same period. The recommended detour for this route includes Route 207 (Rogers Clark Boulevard), Route 684 (Dry Bridge Road), and Route 656 (Coleman’s Mill Road/Dry Bridge Road).

In Spotsylvania County, Route 668 (Summit Crossing Road) will be closed at a railroad crossing located between Foundry Run Drive and Jacks Summit Lane from Monday evening through Wednesday morning. Drivers should follow the detour signs along Route 1, Route 639 (Ladysmith Road), Route 207 (Rogers Clark Boulevard), and Route 2 (Fredericksburg Turnpike/Main Street).

The schedule for these closures is weather-dependent. Travelers can check for updates on road statuses through the service provided by “511Virginia.”
