Csx rail maintenance prompts Penola Road closure in Caroline County

CSX railroad maintenance will lead to the closure of Route 601, known as Penola Road, in Caroline County this weekend. The road closure is set to begin at a railroad crossing between Polecat Creek Bridge and Polecat Lane starting at 6 p.m. tonight.

The closure will remain in effect continuously until approximately 11:59 p.m. on Monday, June 9. During this period, signs will be placed to direct motorists along a recommended detour route.

The suggested detour includes the following roads: Route 207 (Rogers Clark Boulevard), Route 684 (Dry Bridge Road), Route 656 (Colemans Mill Road/Dry Bridge Road), Route 655 (McBryant Road), Route 654 (Moores Mill Road), and Route 301 (Richmond Turnpike).
