Virginia’s Melodie Collard and Vivian Yang were named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Tennis Doubles Team of the Week, according to an April 14 announcement by the conference.

The recognition highlights their performance during a weekend in which they secured key victories for the Cavaliers. The pair began with a 6-2 win over Wake Forest’s Nevena Carton and Kady Tannenbaum, contributing to Virginia’s 4-0 team victory on Friday. They followed this by defeating North Carolina State’s Victoria Osuigwe and Gabriella Broadfoot, ranked No. 2 nationally, with a score of 6-4 in a match that clinched the ACC regular-season championship for Virginia.

Collard and Yang completed the dual match regular season with a record of 17 wins and five losses while playing on the top court. This marks Collard’s first weekly conference honor of the season. Yang had previously received Player of the Week honors earlier in the year.

This is also Virginia’s first Doubles Team of the Week award this season.
