The Chesapeake Police announced on May 7 that an unknown suspect trespassed onto A&W Construction’s job site on Peaceful Rd. between 7:00 pm and 11:00 pm on May 2, causing approximately $500,000 in damage to construction vehicles and the surrounding area.

The incident is significant due to the high value of the damages reported and the ongoing investigation. The police are asking for assistance from anyone who may have information about this crime.

Authorities encourage individuals with any details regarding unsolved cases or suspects to come forward. “If you have any information about this crime, please reach out to the Chesapeake Police,” officials said. They emphasized that tips can be submitted anonymously by telephone via Chesapeake CrimeLine at 1-888-562-5887 (option 4 for Chesapeake), online through the Chesapeake Crime Line Form, or using the mobile app “P3TIPS.” According to police, those whose tips lead to an arrest or recovery of stolen property could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,500.

The City of Chesapeake operates under a council-manager form of government and covers 353 square miles across diverse environments, according to the official website. The city has historic roots dating back to early English settlements near the Elizabeth River around 1620 and is linked to significant Revolutionary War events such as the Battle of Great Bridge in 1775. It also preserves historic districts and supports educational events like reenactments related to its history.

Officials urge community members who may have witnessed suspicious activity or possess relevant information about recent crimes in their area not only help solve cases but also support efforts in maintaining public safety.
