Virginia women’s squash players Charlotte Pastel and Lina Tammam were named All-Americans, according to an announcement by the College Squash Association on Apr. 17.
The recognition highlights the achievements of both athletes during the recent season. Being named an All-American is considered a significant honor in collegiate squash, marking outstanding performance at the national level.
Pastel, a freshman, was selected for the first team after advancing to the round of 16 at the CSA Individual National Championships. She finished her season tied for most wins on her team with a record of 13-5 while playing at position one. Pastel also earned MASC Women’s Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year honors in March. This is her first time receiving All-America honors and she becomes only the second player in program history to be named to the first team.
Tammam, a senior, received second-team honors for a third consecutive year after compiling an 11-6 record primarily at position two this season. At nationals, she competed in the consolation pool final. With this award, Tammam joins previous Cavaliers Emma Jinks (2020), Meagan Best (2022-25), and herself as three-time honorees among Virginia women’s squash players.
These accolades reflect both individual achievement and continued growth within Virginia’s women’s squash program.
