Carpenters Mill Road (Route 616) in Greene County has reopened after repairs to a low-water bridge north of the intersection with Route 607 (Matthew Mill Road). The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) announced that the bridge, which was damaged during summer flooding when asphalt at the crossing was washed away, is now open to traffic.

According to VDOT, crews removed the damaged pavement and installed a reinforced concrete surface to restore safe travel. Contractors completed the work and reopened the bridge ahead of schedule.

Local updates for conditions in VDOT’s Culpeper District are available on its official social media channels, including X and Facebook. Travelers can access current traffic information, view traffic cameras across Virginia, and find other travel details through VDOT’s 511 website (https://511.vdot.virginia.gov/), mobile app, or by calling 511 within Virginia.
