Route 3 in Spotsylvania County was temporarily closed in both directions due to a brush fire near the Wilderness Presidential Resort, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation. The closure affected the stretch between Orange Plank Road and Elys Ford Road/Old Plank Road.

During the incident, eastbound traffic on Route 3 was detoured at Orange Plank Road, while westbound traffic was redirected at Old Plank Road. Motorists were advised to use alternate routes until further notice.

An update issued at 11:52 a.m. on November 11, 2025, confirmed that both eastbound and westbound lanes of Route 3 had reopened and detours were lifted. However, westbound Route 3 remained reduced to a single lane as crews continued their response.
