Replacement of the Front Street bridge over the Clinch River in Richlands is set to begin soon. The project is located at the intersection of Front Street with Fairfax Avenue, extending to the intersection of Front Street with Allegheny Street in Tazewell County.

The existing bridge will be closed to traffic during construction, starting April 14. Traffic will be rerouted along Railroad Avenue, 2nd Street, and Allegheny Street to reach businesses on the east end of Front Street. Those traveling from the west along Front Street will be directed onto Fairfax Avenue to access 2nd Street.

Motorists are advised to pay attention to detour signs in the area.
