Bridge repairs prompt Plank Road closure in Lunenburg

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) plans to close a section of Route 655, known as Plank Road, in Lunenburg for bridge repairs. The closure will occur between Route 635 (Oral Oaks Road) and Route 643 (New Grove Road). The work is scheduled to start on Monday, March 31, and is anticipated to be completed by early July, weather permitting.

To accommodate the closure, VDOT has outlined detours for motorists. Westbound traffic should travel east to Route 635 (Oral Oaks Road), head north to Route 643 (New Grove Road), and then proceed south onto Route 655 (Plank Road). Eastbound traffic should travel west to Route 643 (New Grove Road), head north to Route 653 (Oral Oaks Road), and then continue south to Route 655 (Plank Road).
