A section of Route 654 (Spring Run Road) in Chesterfield County will be closed for bridge repairs, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). The closure, which is dependent on weather conditions, will affect the area between Route 653 (Qualla Road) and Route 655 (Beach Road), starting at 8 a.m. on Monday, September 15. Work is scheduled to continue through 3 p.m. on Friday, October 31.

The closure is necessary for repairs to the bridge over Third Branch Creek. VDOT stated that homeowners will still have access to their properties on both sides of the bridge during the project.

Detours will be in place for drivers traveling through the area. Northbound traffic should travel west on Route 655 (Beach Road), then north on Route 653 (Qualla Road) before returning to Route 654 (Spring Run Road). Southbound traffic should take southbound Route 653 (Qualla Road), then east on Route 655 (Beach Road), and return to Spring Run Road.

For additional information or questions about the project, residents can contact VDOT’s customer service center at 800-FOR-ROAD (800-367-7623).
