Auburn Farm Road (Route 3171) and Sanders Lane (Route 705) will be closed to through traffic between Arlington Oaks Drive/Grassland Grove Drive and Route 234 (Sudley Road) on December 17 and 18, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation. The closures are scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day, weather permitting, to allow for the installation of a new guardrail on the bridge over Bull Run at the Loudoun and Prince William county line.
Access will be maintained for those needing to reach properties along Auburn Farm Road or Sanders Lane, but drivers will not be able to cross the bridge in either direction during the closure.
Through traffic will be detoured using Route 234, Gum Spring Road (Route 659), Braddock Road (Route 620), and Northstar Boulevard (Route 3171) before returning to Auburn Farm Road/Sanders Lane. Drivers are advised to follow posted detour signs.
