The head of American Majority Action (AMA) said the 2025 Virginia elections are about protecting Virginia families and keeping “our state strong.”
“The 2025 Virginia elections are about stopping the radical left from turning our Commonwealth into another failed progressive experiment,” said Ned Ryun, a Virginia resident and founder of AMA, an advocacy organization that wants to “put in place new conservative grassroots political infrastructure.”
“Abigail Spanberger wants to run as a moderate, but she’s nothing more than a Trojan horse for Joe Biden-style policies—policies that would weaken public safety, turn a blind eye to illegal immigration, and undermine the rule of law,” said Ryun. “We need to maintain a common-sense majority in Richmond to protect Virginia families and keep our state strong,” said Ryun.
Virginia will hold its 2025 general elections on November 4, 2025. The ballot will include the governor’s race between current Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears (R) and former U.S. Rep. Spanberger (D).
During her time in Congress, Abigail Spanberger voted against the Secure the Border Act (H.R. 2) in May 2023, which included provisions to restart border wall construction, expand detention capacity, limit asylum eligibility, and mandate E-Verify. She also voted against the Laken Riley Act in 2024, which would have required the detention of illegal aliens charged with violent crimes.
The attorney general race features incumbent Jason Miyares (R) and former state delegate Jay Jones (D).
A former prosecutor and state delegate, Miyares has focused on the prosecution of crimes committed by illegal alien crimes. In 2024, he issued a legal opinion affirming that Virginia law enforcement may cooperate with federal immigration authorities. Following Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s executive order on February 27, 2025, Miyares endorsed expanding state law enforcement cooperation with federal agencies to identify and transfer criminal illegal aliens.
Jones said in a Virginia Mercury questionnaire that state and local law enforcement should not be involved in the prosecution of illegal alien crimes.
Control of the Virginia House of Delegates will also be decided, with all 100 delegate also up for election. Democrats currently hold a 51–48 majority.
