Senior attacker Alexis Morton was named an ILWomen Nike Lacrosse Media All-America honorable mention, according to a May 15 announcement. Morton was one of 78 players recognized and the only student-athlete from the Atlantic 10 Conference to receive All-America honors.
The recognition highlights Morton’s standout performance during her senior season. She earned multiple accolades, including Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Year, first-team all-conference selection, ILWomen Nike Lacrosse Midseason Media All-America honorable mention, and USA Lacrosse All-America honorable mention. Morton was also selected three times as Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Week.
During the season, Morton played in 17 games and accumulated 99 points with 57 goals and 42 assists. She posted a .765 shots-on-goal percentage and a .559 shooting percentage while contributing seven ground balls and seven caused turnovers.
Morton played a key role in leading Richmond to one of the top offenses nationally. The team ranked sixth in scoring offense and points per game, ninth in total points, seventeenth in goals per game, and nineteenth in assists per game. Individually, Morton ranked twentieth nationally in shooting percentage.
Within conference play, she led the Atlantic 10 with an average of 5.82 points per game. She ranked third for goals per game at 3.35 and second for assists per game at 2.47. Additionally, she set Richmond’s single-season record with her total points tally and tied the program’s single-game record twice by recording two separate games with eleven points each against VCU and Duquesne.
