James Madison University announced on June 1 that Adrian Myers, a Virginia native and transfer from San Jose State, has joined the Dukes men’s basketball team for the 2026-27 season.

Myers, a 6-foot-6 forward from Stephens City, Virginia, previously played two seasons at Mississippi State (2023-25) before spending the 2025-26 season at San Jose State. He will have two years of eligibility remaining after redshirting during the 2024-25 season at Mississippi State.

Head Coach Preston Spradlin said, “Adrian brings diverse experience back home to Virginia after playing in two of college basketball’s most respected leagues. He is a gifted scorer who can stretch the floor with his shooting, along with using his size and physicality to impact the game on the interior.”

During his time at San Jose State in 2025-26, Myers appeared in 28 games with 22 starts as a redshirt sophomore. He averaged 11.1 points and 4.9 rebounds per game while shooting nearly 43 percent from the field and over 37 percent from three-point range. Myers led the Spartans with 21 blocks and recorded a career-high performance of 34 points against Air Force on February 24, where he shot eight-for-nine from beyond the arc—a mark that tied a school record.

Myers also posted strong numbers in his final eight games of last season, averaging almost twenty points and eight rebounds per contest while recording three double-doubles. His high school career included playing at Massanutten Military Academy, where he averaged over twenty-two points per game as a senior.
